Saints celebrate 250th goal since senior side relaunch

Saints Captain Simon Barby hit the back of the net, with the winner, during this week's mid-week fixture versus Newent Town on Wednesday night. The goal was the side's 250th since open age men's football was relaunched at the club in 2019.

Manager Rich Kay named an unchanged side in the fixture played at Wildsmith Meadow, on what was a bitterly cold evening.

The players held their nerve and battled hard against the cold, and the opposition, to come away with the three points, in what was their third win on the trot. The 250 goals have come in just 89 matches for the team.

The on form Saints face Caine Town in their next match at home at Bobby Hancocks Park this weekend (subject to the weather). The oppoistion sit just one point ahead in the table, so it's sure to be a hotly contested match.
